Google Maps on iOS is Getting Incognito Mode
Incognito mode works much same as it does in the Chrome browser or on Android. When the indigo mode is on, you can search for a location or navigate somewhere, and Google will not save any of your information to your Google account. In order to activate the Incognito mode, just open Google Maps, tap on your profile photo, and select “Turn on Incognito mode”. Marlo McGriff Product Manager, Google Maps said in a statement: “Incognito mode on iOS works the same way it does on Android. While in Incognito mode, the places you search for or navigate to won’t be saved to your Google Account and you won’t see personalized features within Maps, like restaurant recommendations based on dining spots you’ve been to previously. Using Incognito mode on your phone will not update your Location History, so the places you go won’t be saved to your Timeline,” Google Maps is not the only app that is receiving the Incognito Mode. YouTube app on the Android already received this mode in 2018. Google has also confirmed that next month, it is planning to roll out the ability for Android users to bulk-delete information from their Google Maps timeline and location history.
